Don’t try to fix me.

You don’t know this pain

You can’t sense these fears

Stop trying to fix me.

You haven’t stepped my steps

You’ve never cried these tears

Don’t try to fix me.

Your words are nothing more than a murmuring reminder of my wound

Your actions tell me that I’m nothing more than a merit badge to you

Stop trying to fix me.

I’m not a car and you’re not my mechanic

I’m not an equation and you’re not my mathematician

Don’t try to fix me.

All I want is for you to be my friend, not my shrink

All I want is for you to listen, not to speak

Stop trying to fix me.

I will never remember what you said, I’ll only remember if you were there

Your witty words are cliché, but your loyal love is profound

Don’t try to fix me.

Remind me of true life by simply living

Let my creator do the recreating

And please stop trying to fix me.
