Josh's Blog
By Josh Weidmann on Friday, February 24, 2006 5:00 AM

A few days ago, I was reading my Bible, and I came across a passage in Ephesians 5:1. It says, "Be imitators of God." I nearly dropped my Bible. Are you kidding me? Be an imitator of GOD? Yeah, right, I could never do that. How am I supposed to know how to start living to be more like God?

That is when I read on, and in verse 2 it said, "and walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

Right then it hit me. If I am to imitate God or be holy as He is holy, I need to mimic Christ. I am learning that this goes way beyond the "What Would Jesus Do?" message that many Christians wear on bracelets on their wrists. I came up with my own acronym. It is HCYKWWJDIYDKWJD?. Perhaps it would be better on a belt.... Anyway, it stands for How Can You Know What Would Jesus Do If You Don't Know What Jesus Did?.

If I am going to live like Jesus or be an imitator of God I need to be getting in the Bible and finding out how Christ lived. God's Word needs to be my daily manual on how to be alive!
