There are some things that need to change in my life. I want to be revolutionary. Different.
My soul sees the complacency of this world and screams, "Pardon me while I revolt!"
I will be different...
...in the way I approach each day: I will live every second with complete intentionality. I will never lose my joy, even when I have lost my happiness. I will manage my time better than any other person because of the way I plan and pray through every day. My morning will dawn with the Word of God, and my night will fall in the silence of His Scriptures.
...because I pray hard, play hard, and work hard: I will know my boundaries. I will never be afraid to say, "No" or "Let me check on that." It is said the most successful men are those who only work 55 hours a week. I too will be a man that understands the importance of work, but will also guard the sacred ground outside of work-- whatever that may be.
...because my finances are in check with a godly balance: I will not strive to bring in more than I need. All excess will be saved and given away. I will keep a close account of the funds that are given to me or that I earn, but will never become obsessed with the counting of pennies. I will pay off debt quickly. I will always live within my means.
...because I will let discouragement roll off my back: When I am overwhelmed, spoken against, or when I encounter endless trials, I will persevere and thrive. If I am discouraged or downcast, I will find time to body-slam my soul with the Word of God. When I find His Word irrelevant, I will pray for the divine intervention of the Holy Spirit in my life, to provide clarity through my sinful discouragement. I will repent from all thoughts of hopelessness and apathy.
...because I love God first and people second: My banner will be, "I am loved, and I am loving my Creator." I will never fail to love others with my whole self. Nothing is more important to me than my God and His people. Because I love God, my love will permeate from my pores for His created children.
...because I never let the urgent knock out the important: As hard as it may be, I will always look through the screaming tasks to see the vital relationships before me. I will check myself daily to make sure the urgent is not my first priority.
...because I take care of my temple: I will eat what is right for me and not let my tongue control my body. I will exercise on a regular basis to ensure my health and stability of mind.
...because I will see souls and not faces: It is my gain if I can look past the face of a person to see their soul. What God will show me may be stunning. O God, please help me see what others don't. Give me your eyes. Help me to ask people, "How's your heart?" instead of "How's your day?"
I will read these resolutions as often as necessary to remind myself of these commitments I have made. Please help me, Lord.
